The Cycas is a plant belonging to the family of Cycadaceae and our island is quite full of it. Ours, however, is different. My grandfather, a sailor, gave it as a present to the second to last of seven daughters when she had this house built for herself and her husband-to-be. It was 1965 and since then the Cycas has seen our family grow and watched over our lives and those of our friends and acquaintances. Recently it has experienced the process of renovation of the house, which from being my “mother’s house” has become OUR house and presently it is enjoying its final “home place” that will hopefully emphasize all its beauty. Now, together with my husband, I have finally decided to open the doors of my house, La Cycas, hoping to share the quiet, peacefulness and spirit of our household with all those who’d like to spend a holiday as real travellers rather than as mere tourists.

People who’d like to live with us, in our house, and get to know the island as if they were islanders thanks also to the tips given by other islanders. I hope that, once back home, Ischia will not be just the sea, the beaches, the sunsets, revitalizing spa waters, sunbathing and moonlight nights, but most importantly a one-of-a-kind human experience. Isabella and Giovanni and the Cycas would love to be part of your memories!
